[Event Report] Japan–Pakistan Dialogue Webinar (BCPR–IHJ)

On 3 April 2026, the International House of Japan (IHJ) and the BNU Center for Policy Research (BCPR) in Pakistan jointly convened the Japan–Pakistan Dialogue Webinar, held online. The event brought together scholars and policy experts from Japan and Pakistan to exchange views on emerging geoeconomic trends in Asia, regional connectivity, and the role of cultural diplomacy and academic collaboration in strengthening bilateral relations.

The programme opened with presentations addressing the future of Asian geoeconomics and the strategic importance of regional connectivity and economic corridors, setting the discussion around the evolving geoeconomic landscape and the importance of sustained intellectual engagement between Japan and Pakistan. The session also examined trade diversification and economic resilience amid geopolitical uncertainty, as well as opportunities for expanding Japan–Pakistan economic relations.

The discussion further highlighted the role of soft power and knowledge diplomacy, emphasizing the contribution of educational and cultural institutions and the importance of academic collaboration and people-to-people engagement. The webinar concluded with an exchange on regional connectivity, academic cooperation, and prospects for continued institutional collaboration.
