IHJ Policy Roundtable 2026
[Event Report] IHJ Policy Roundtable with Tanvi Madan —“India’s Ties with China and the U.S.: Implications for Japan”
The International House of Japan (IHJ) convened an IHJ Policy Roundtable on November 2, 2026, with Dr. Tanvi Madan, Senior Fellow in the Center for Asia Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution.
The roundtable explored how India’s ties with China and the United States have evolved over the past two and a half decades, and the implications for India’s approach to the Indo-Pacific, its relations with Japan, and minilaterals such as the Quad. Participants engaged in a lively exchange of views with Dr. Madan.
The roundtable provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on India’s strategic choices amid great-power competition and the future of Japan-India cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
