About
LEAP Overseas Fellows Program is a fellowship program that dispatches young researchers to think tanks and research institutions in neighbouring East Asian countries.
Through on-site exchange and research activities, the program aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders who can contribute to sustainable peace and regional cooperation. Fellows deepen their understanding of regional issues from the perspectives of each host country while working to promote “peace, reconciliation, and mutual understanding” in East Asia. The program also seeks to foster grassroots-level connections with local communities and build long-term human networks through research and policy engagement.
- Format: Overseas residency fellowship (one-year training program for regional experts)
- Eligibility: Open to young and mid-career professionals aspiring to become experts on the Asia-Pacific region.
- Destination: Major think tanks and research institutions in South Korea, Taiwan, and China
- Duration: One year (including initial training and preparatory work at I-House)
- Objectives: Field research, policy network building, improvement of policy advocacy capabilities, and development of sustainable human networks
