Several members of the International House of Japan (IHJ) community participated in the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue 2026, Asia’s leading defense and security summit, held in Singapore from 29–31 May 2026. The Dialogue brought together defense ministers, senior government officials, military leaders, and experts from around the world.

Representing IHJ were Professor Ken Jimbo, Managing Director, Mr. Takahiro Kamisuna, a Matsumoto Fellow (Research Associate at the IISS Japan Chair Programme, London) and Ms. Wakana Asano, a Takano Fellow (Research Associate at IISS–Asia, Singapore). Mr. Yasukane Matsumoto, Chairman of Raksul Inc. and CEO of Josys Inc., whose support makes the IHJ Matsumoto Fellowship possible, also attended the Dialogue.

Through their participation, IHJ’s experts engaged in discussions on regional security, alliance cooperation, emerging technologies, and the future of the Indo-Pacific.
